Healthy dessert - Fresh Fruit Kebabs by Year 5.1
For our first cooking lesson pupils from Year 5.1 rolled up their sleeves and set off peeling different fruit to prepare a healthy dessert, namely Fresh Fruit Kebabs.
Children brought at least four different fruit, varying from granny’s apples, pears, not-so-ripe bananas, seedless grapes to strawberries. Next these were cut into chunks and placed in their plastic bowls. Finally these chunks were inserted into kebab sticks.
The final display was simply spectacular and none-the-less mouth-watering in taste.
This activity was linked to the ECO Skola Healthy Eating Policy and was done during mid-week in the home economics room of our school.
